Kern: Another Game for Designers
KERN iPhone game demo from Jason Franzen on Vimeo.
Although it has been available for a while now, I only recently bought a copy of Kern via the App Store. It’s a typography based game for the iPhone and iPod Touch, where you have to (surprise) place a falling letter into a word so that it is correctly kerned. It’s a minimalist game, but is completely addictive in the same way I’d spend hours playing games on my Atari 2600 when I was a kid. Kern is by FORMation, and they also have a colour matching game and a printing plate alignment game! I’m considering buying those, too.
